About Our Host
Dr. Freda V. Crews, D. Min., Ph.D., is the Director of Time for Hope Ministries and the host of Time for Hope, the internationally syndicated television program dedicated to faith based mental health. She is a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor. In addition, Dr. Crews is the Dean Emeritus of the International University for Graduate Studies School of Christian Counseling and Spiritual Direction.
Dr. Crews brings a rich background of training and experience to any speaking engagement. She holds a MA in Counseling from North American Baptist Seminary, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; a Doctorate of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois; and a Ph.D. from the International University for Graduate Studies, St. Kitts, West Indies.
From 1991 to 1997, Dr. Crews hosted the Truth for Living radio broadcast. She has also appeared as a guest on radio and television stations around the country. As a theologically-trained Bible teacher, she has taught and ministered in churches throughout the country and has served on several church staffs as Director of Pastoral Care and Counseling. Her speaking ministry includes lectures, video presentations, workshops, seminars and retreats.
She also serves as a video/conference presenter and contributing writer for the American Association of Christian Counselors. A charter member of the AACC, Dr. Crews chaired the Executive Board from 1998 to 2001, established and directed the Counselor Care program from 1996 to 2001 and continued to serve on the board until 2003.
Dr. Crews is the author of Get Off Your Own Back, A Comprehensive Guide to Christian Lay Counseling, Counseling from the Book of Job (out of print), and booklets related to various spiritual issues such as depression, grief, marriage, etc. She has also appeared in several publications as a contributing author and as a columnist for The Christian Counseling Connection.
